Winona LaDuke is an internationally renowned indigenous environmental leader and scholar. She is the founder and Executive Director of Honor the Earth, an indigenous-women led organization that has been successful in advancing environmental protection of indigenous peoples’ territories and in incubating grassroots economic self-sufficiency projects on her White Earth Anishinaabe reservation in Minnesota and in other indigenous peoples’ communities across Turtle Island (North America).
On February 9, 2023, our campus was privileged to host Winona LaDuke in conversation. A broad attendance of CU Denver students, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to hear about her experiences with water conservation and the work she has done on her reservation and across the globe.
