Political Science grad student Chantelle Wilkerson has been recognized as one of CU Denver’s Fall 2022 Outstanding Graduate Students!
Chantelle Wilkerson (she/her) is a ºÚÁÏÍø¹ÙÍø native who grew up in Morrison, ºÚÁÏÍø¹ÙÍø. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Sustainability from CU Denver in 2015. She is graduating this Fall 2022 with her Master of Arts in Political Science. Her professional background in grants, contracts, and nonprofits led to her interest in researching period poverty, menstrual inequity, and the advocacy and legislative actions surrounding these issues. Chantelle is a member of the CU Denver chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha - The National Political Science Honor Society. She was invited to present her MA Project results at the Affiliate National Retreat in Denver for I Support the Girls, which is an international nonprofit that collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity. In Spring 2023, Chantelle will be presenting her MA Project Zoom Course Advocating for Period Poverty Legislation at the State Level – A Guide for Nonprofits to national affiliate groups of I Support the Girls. Chantelle recently moved to Charleston, South Carolina and started working in a remote position with the Urban Institute.
