Food Justice NW Aurora is building a multicultural, intergenerational, and intersectional movement for food justice and food sovereignty to transform our local food system in NW Aurora, CO.Â
They are seeking a talented and passionate person who is committed to community-led transformation. This team member will serve as the lead for community organizing and community leadership development. They will work to increase relationships with residents, community leaders, and partners in NW Aurora; work with community to identify priority issues related to food, agriculture, and community wealth building; organize and facilitate organizing action teams around priority issues; build on community strengths and talents to advance community-driven initiatives; and support advocacy efforts to advance policy, systems, and environment changes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in community organizing and/or community-led advocacy
- Experience developing advocacy strategy and leading successful campaigns with tangible benefits
- Bilingual in English and another language that are common in the NW Aurora community (such as Spanish, Nepali, Burmese, Vietnamese, Arabic, French, Amharic, or others)
- Experience and confidence working closely with diverse community members, including adults and youth with a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, lived experiences, and perspectives, needs, and interests
- Experience working closely with communities with low-income households, communities of color, and immigrants and refugees
Hours, Work Environment, Compensation, and Benefits:
- Full-time exempt position: 40 hours per week with flexibility to attend and/or lead some evening and weekend activities
- Work is conducted in Aurora, CO, in a wide variety of settings including in-person meetings in the community and computer work while working from the office and from home
- Compensation: $60,000-65,000 depending on experience
