The Breslin for Congress campaign is looking for volunteers and interns for the spring semester. Intern duties involve policy research and communications outreach, including news media and social media, with the opportunity to assist with the messaging and strategic communications aspecs of the campaign. Policy interns will conduct research on pending legislation and urgent political developments, such as US policy in the Middle East, and district-specific issues such as rural health care. The candidate, Karen Breslin, is a Democrat running for the seat currently occupied by Ken Buck, who has decided against seeking reelection. Volunteer opportunities will be focused on voter outreach, including assisting with setting up campaign events. Breslin ran against Sen. Michael Bennet in 2022, and with minimal funding,Ìý secured 19 percent of the delegates at the state assembly, falling short of the 30 percent necessary to primary Bennet. Her campaign is focused on economic fairness, environmental protection, responding to the needs of rural communities and resisting war as a solution to conflict. She advocates for a ceasefire in the Israel/Hamas war and protection of human rights at home and abroad. The communications internship is currently posted on the Handshake system through the Office of Experiential Learning. A policy job description will be posted shortly.Ìý
