Though South Korea听and the USA diagnosed their first COVID case on the same day, the USA exploded into the world鈥檚 worst COVID disaster, while South Korea kept the disease under control.听With 52 million people, Korea today reports 2709 deaths (1 death per 20,000 people).听 The USA reports 732,000 deaths听among its 329 million people (1 death per 450 people).听What explains these widely divergent results听and what can听a听comparison听of听South Korea听and听America鈥檚 COVID response teach听about the political landscape听of听both countries?
